“We are very pleased to launch the ENJAZI Competition in partnership with MIT Enterprise Forum Pan Arab as it will boost development and support of entrepreneurs in Libya”, said Dr. Khaled Al Mufti, CEO and GM of Tatweer Research.
This competition, organized by Tatweer Research in partnership with MIT Enterprise Forum – Pan Arab, aims to support entrepreneurs and help them tackle challenges they might face while implementing their projects, thus ensuring that these projects are feasible, able to develop, and socially responsible. This competition targets youth aspiring to start their technology projects which support the knowledge economy, now considered a main pillar of other economies.
The Competition will be launched in Libya on April 8, 2017, and will select from all submitted projects through its website www.enjazi.ly, the top 30 projects. Submission deadline is on June 1, 2017 and will be followed by a round of pitching before a jury selects the best projects.
Following the final round, Tatweer will offer high-quality training to qualifying teams in Libya and abroad provided by a group of experts and specialists in the field. After the training phase, the winners will be hosted by an entrepreneurship development incubator to be established by end of this year. "It's about time to start watching out for the entrepreneurs of Libya, and now is their chance to show the Arab World their talents. The MIT Enterprise Forum Pan Arab is proud to be the first to partner with Tatweer Research on launching the Enjazi competition. We have supported the Arab youth and their entrepreneurial ideas for the past 10 years, and we have full confidence in the entrepreneurs of Libya and their ability to develop creative ideas." said Hala Fadel, MIT EF – Pan Arab Chairwoman and founding member.
The finalist teams will participate in a two-week intensive training program held in Lebanon attended by experts and entrepreneurs who will provide support and guidance to Libyan teams. Furthermore, the teams will take part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) held in Beirut.
The final ceremony of the first edition of ENJAZI will be held in Beirut and attended by all qualifying teams, in addition to trainers and partners involved in all phases of the competition. The winning teams will be announced during the event on December 15.
